Let's say you've gotten to the point that you have an online business plan. You've found your niche and your particular way to make money online. You've broken it down into logical steps and found the services and tools you'll need to make it happen. But the risk of your plan falling into bits is still looming on the horizon.
What is this great and unthinkable force? Is it some societal conspiracy to insure you remain downtrodden? Are all the nasty things people have been telling you about your business aspirations real? The good news is that the source of the problem is well within your control and nothing remotely sinister. The bad news is that far too many people don't do anything about it. In fact, they don't do anything at all, because the best way to kill an online business plan is procrastination.
Here's the situation at hand. Your plans don't come to fruition if they can always wait until tomorrow. There always seems to be an infinite number of tomorrows ahead, and when they come, they stop being tomorrows. Then, you put your plans off again because it can 'wait until tomorrow' and the vicious cycle continues. This is what the admonition 'there's no time like the present' means. Once you have a plan, get it done.
So how do you avoid procrastination? Find the source. It may be laziness, but you might be engaging in procrastination over fear. 'It can wait until tomorrow' is occasionally more like 'I'm uncomfortable with this and I don't want to deal with it'. This occurs especially when it's something you've never done before.
Don't let this stop you. If you have a plan and you're ready to start, don't hamstring yourself now. Making money online isn't that scary if you just learn it. The complexities you're imagining don't exist if you just find ways to learn or outsource them. I understood all manner of internet marketing concepts and web theory in a matter of months simply by refusing to remain ignorant.
Now, if it is a matter of laziness, my advice is to get over it. Do you really want to look back and regret that you never attempted this? Do you want to procrastinate forever and remain in the circumstances that led you to where you are now? You can change your situation if you get up and do it. But if your relaxation and entertainment always take precedence, your new income will never get off the ground.
So remember that the best way to kill your online business aspirations is to procrastinate. You can have the best plan ever, and it won't do you any good if you don't do anything until tomorrow. If you remember this and suppress the urge to delay, you'll be well on you way to online success.
